Monday August 16th

Slept in this morning till 8:00 on the road at 9:30. We headed down the highway 191 towards Moab Utah. Everything was pretty uneventful until we entered into Ashley National Forest. It begins just outside Duchesne, it is a long valley that climbs upto a hieght of 9112 feet and then drops quickly down the other side. We ran for about a hour and a half in an out of thunderstorms with pretty nice lighting. we would get wet and then the sun and heat would dry us out and then wet all over and dry again. At the end of this beautiful valley we came around the corner and wham there it sat a coal powered generation station, beauty and the beast all in one valley. Okay it sounds a little like it was a dark and stormy night but hey it was kinda like that. From Price until about ten miles outside Moab it was pretty much desert like scenery. Ten miles and into Moab was stellar for scenery, everyone should travel this section of road. Moab is a trendy little outdoorsy town, river rafting, jeep tours, bicycle tours things like that. We ate at a great Mexican restaurant, but again they try and feed you to much, Margarita's were delicious as well.
